This project was aimed at providing a more convenient channel for Chinese people to access health-related information, and to better understand and access health services in the UK.
Funded by the Health Foundation, the main beneficiaries of this project were Chinese people who lack English language skills or those who live in dispersed areas. This programme helped them in gaining a better understanding and consequently resulting in greater utilisation of mainstream health care services.
We ran a series of drop-in sessions for people without experience of using the Internet to improve their computing skills, and to access the Chinese Health website.
The Health in Chinese website (www.healthinchinese.net) was launched in January 2005.
CNHLC members continue to have access to the Centre’s computers during office hours.
